How much does a PV system produce?

The energy production of a PV installation depends on the dimension, on the rated power and on solar radiation. As an example, we could consider that a 1kWp solar system – with the best positioning in Northern Italy – produces more or less 1.200 kWh per year. Instead, it produces 1.350 kWh if installed in the centre of Italy and up until 1.500/1.600 kWh in Southern Italy. It might be useful to know that the average family consumes 3000 kWh per year.
